Case Study 1: Cost Efficient |
The Case: A phase III study to evaluate effectiveness of drug in preventing HIV-1 transmission during sexual intercourse. |
Challenges: This was a 78 month trial which also posed difficulties in recruiting willing partners. |
The result: India having one of the largest population of HIV infected people, presented itself as a natural and cost effective choice for these trials. |
The Case: A phase III study for treatment of Peripheral Neuropathy in patients with Diabetes. |
Challenges: Very stringent patient recruitment, exclusion and monitoring criteria. |
The result: Experienced CRCs and Project Managers helped screen the existing patient databases and run a very efficient Patient recruitment programs. Constant checks and Monitors were put in place to evaluate patient behaviors for the Project effectiveness. |
